Benefits Of Deadheading Dahlias

Dahlias produce some of the most gorgeous flowers.  And if you deadhead them, they will bloom all summer and into fall.

If dahlias aren't deadheaded, the plant puts it's energy into it's seed pods.  This is part of the dahlia life cycle.

Removing spent flowers allows the plant to put it's energy into new flower blooms, instead of creating seed pods.

Deadheading also helps the plant stay healthy all season long, making the dahlia less susceptible to pests and diseases.

It's important to deadhead dahlias the right way- you don't want to remove just the flower head.  Read our full article for more info!
