Tips For Deadheading Peonies

Peonies have a short bloom season of just 7-10 days.  Should you deadhead them after the bloom?

The answer is yes, you should deadhead peonies once they bloom.  Doing so does a few things.

Deadheading the plant will encourage it to put it's energy into the leaves and roots instead of in the seed pods.

Deadheading peonies can also help prevent disease and pests that can harbor in the spent flowers.
