How To Grow + Care For Lilac Bushes

Lilac Bushes are fragrant perennial shrubs that bloom with beautiful flowers every spring.  They come in many colors: pink, white, purple and light blue.  Once established, they are easy to grow.

Lilac bushes need full sun in order to thrive.  This means they need 6 to 8 hours of sunlight per day.  Less sun will result in fewer blooms.

Lilacs need well draining soil that is full of organic matter.  The pH level should be slightly alkaline (not acidic).

There are many lilac varieties and they are often used in cottage styled gardens.

Plant lilac bushes in an area where they will be out of the wind.  Give each plant enough air circulation.  Space well!

When lilac plants are young, makes sure you give the growing plant plenty of water.  Once established water them with less frequently a deep drink
