Parts of a Sunflower

Bright and beautiful, sunflowers are surprisingly complex.

The flower head is actually composed of hundreds of individual flowers!

These tiny flowers eventually become the sunflower seeds.

The seeds complete the life cycle and promote the growth of new sunflower plants.

Sunflowers have one main tap root with lots of tiny roots that grow out from it.

Sunflowers also have a stalk and leaves which help collect nutrients from the sun.
