When To Plant Tulip Bulbs

Last spring we enjoyed these beautiful long stemmed tulips on my parents property in SW Wa.

Though these tulips bloomed in springtime, we had to plant them in the fall to get them to bloom.

The time of planting depends on your specific zone and soil temperatures.

To encourage the long stems, I planted the tulip bulbs close together, like eggs in a basket.
